Rest Don’t Quit
You see strength in people but sometimes the strongest people are struggling the most. It was 3:00 am Saturday morning the last time I rolled over, looked at the clock, got up and went to the restroom and said to myself. “I have 1-1/2 hours to sleep. I MUST fall asleep. “Why do I have to have a cold and sore throat on this day?”
Sure enough at 4:30 am my alarm went off, I woke Gabby up and we started our 3-1/2 hour drive to SLC, Utah for our quarterly event with our team and a live workout with Chris Downing. Gabby drove and I worked on building our team training website and we arrived on time for the VIP event.
I was struggling to breathe normal sitting there listening to the amazing life changing transformations. Then came time for the live workout. Heather, Felisha, and I met with Chris behind the stage and he said, “We’re doing Proving Grounds 3” With this evil grin hahahahah.
I hopped on stage and looked out to the hundreds of people who came together with one mission. To better themselves and learn how to help others live a healthier more fulfilling life.
About 10 minutes into our 38 minute workout I wanted to hide behind the stage, lay on my back, and put my feet up in the air. I couldn’t keep up with Heather or Felisha. Then I remembered a lesson that I teach my clients and team over and over again.
“Learn to rest and not quit.”
So I put my blinders on, focused on doing the best I could, and when needed I looked out into the crowd of people and made eye contact with others that I could tell were winded and tired just like me and without any words being shared I felt a mutual feeling of “I got your back, we can do this, together we are better.”
And we kept going.
The high fives from Heather and Felisha were reminders and proof that this isn’t a completion but team work. It’s hard to find that in the health and fitness industry and that’s one of he many reasons I LOVE what we do.
I want to be in your corner friend, and I want you to know that I will be in your corner as well.
